1. Walter De Maria et la Dia Art Foundation.

Walter De Maria est sculpteur minimaliste et compositeur, il a été drummer avec John Cale dans un groupe nommé The Druds, considéré comme les précurseurs de Velvet Underground. Il vit et travaille présentement à New-York. Son parcours est intéressant, son oeuvre aussi.

Il est possible de voir 2 expositions de cet artiste à New-York. Ce qu’il y a de particulier et de vraiment unique est que 2 de ses expositions durent depuis des années… Et là, je ne parle pas de 4 ans… neunon. L’exposition The New-York Earth Room est à l’affiche depuis 1980! 1980. 1.9.8.0. Et la seconde, The Broken Kilometer, est en galerie depuis 1977. Elles sont entretenues par la fondation DIA Art Foundation qui est aussi commissaire de l’expo. Cette fondation s’occupe et entretient plusieurs oeuvres de longues durées dont celle aussi de Joseph Beuys 7000 Oaks.

Unlock. iPhoneography Montreal’s Unlock exhibition offers the visions from three artists who have iPhoneography as a common medium, a new form of mobile photography that is gradually being accepted in the evolving world of the visual arts. Literally, the title refers to the function of unlocking the iPhone, but figuratively, it is the evocation of creative freedom, so inherent to mobile art. Finally, the Unlock exhibition pushes the boundaries by working with EyeEm from Berlin, a group that promotes mobile art through a website of international reputation. Two artists will be selected by the EyeEm team and MissPixels to exhibit their work with us.

We will have 2 guest artists. Gilles Saulnier and Jérôme Kerneis, both from France. These 2 artist were select by a call from submission in collaboration with Eyeem.

J’expose avec mes amis de iPhoneography Montreal au Visual Voice Contemporary Art Gallery dans le fameux Édifice Belgo. Le vernissage est le 28 janvier à 15h. On vous y attends!

Unlock propose trois visions d’artistes qui ont comme dénominateur commun le médium de l’iPhoneographie, une forme de photographie mobile qui s’immisce de plus en plus dans le milieu des arts. Littéralement, le titre fait référence à la fonction de dévérouillage du iPhone, mais au sens figuré, il se fait l’évocation de la liberté créatrice, si chère à l’art mobile. En troisième lieu, l’exposition Unlock repousse les frontières en collaborant avec les berlinois EyeEm, un regroupement qui fait la promotion de l’art mobile via un site web de renommée internationale. Deux artistes seront choisis par MissPixels et l’équipe d’EyeEm pour exposer leurs oeuvres à nos côtés.

Ce matin, il fait -23° C à Mirabel, Quebec. Brrr.
C’est par une température semblable à celle-ci que l’idée de tester tous les gants touchscreen sur le marché m’est apparue. Je me suis dite que j’étais probablement la testeuse idéale d’une part parce que je suis entourée de neige et de froid et d’autre part parce que présentement, je travaille une série hivernale. C’est ainsi que j’ai approché toutes les marques possibles et impossibles. 12 ont généreusement répondu à l’appel. Voici la liste.
